Vent: old timer at the Springdale forge told me my hammer grip was all wrong
I was choking up on the handle like a baseball bat and he said "boy, you're fighting the steel with that grip." Two years later and I'm still working on loosening my bottom two fingers on the upswing, but my elbow stopped aching after about 6 months of doing it his way. Any of you change your grip after a stray comment from someone and never went back?

How long did it take before the loose grip felt natural instead of like you'd drop the hammer?
