I used to think a 'quick game' meant 20 minutes, now my group's 'quick' Catan session is 3 hours

The switch happened after we started using the Cities & Knights expansion and a house rule about longest road from my buddy in Phoenix. Anyone else have a game that just ballooned like that?

Remember that old drinking game where you take a shot every time someone says "just one more turn" in Civ? Yeah, we don't play that anymore.

Ugh, same thing happened with our Risk games.

Actually it's a bit different with Risk. The game has a fixed end condition, you just conquer the board. Monopoly can literally go on forever if no one trades properties. That's why our games always stalled out.
