My game night in Portland ended with a rulebook in the freezer
We were playing a new game called 'Deep Sea Adventure' and got into a huge fight about the oxygen rules. My friend Mark got so mad he put the rulebook in the freezer to 'cool it off'. We had to wait twenty minutes to finish the game. Now I always read the rules twice before we start. What's the weirdest place you've had to go to find a game piece?

Totally agree, the dumb fights are the best part. I mean, we once spent forty minutes looking for a lost meeple and found it chilling in the potato chip bowl, covered in salt. The argument about whether it was still 'clean' to play with was way more fun than the actual last round of the game. Figuring out the rules wrong makes for a way better story than getting them right.

Our group once lost a tiny wooden ship from a pirate game for a whole week. We finally found it inside the VCR, which we hadn't used in years. The debate about whether it was now a 'ghost ship' basically became the real game.

Seriously, why even read the rules twice? Isn't half the fun figuring it out as you go and having a dumb fight? That freezer story is way better than playing the game right.
