My local board game geeks now play on apps, and I hate it.

It's funny how things change over time. My cousin used to host weekly poker nights with real cards and chips, but now everyone just logs into an app instead. The whole point was to hang out, trash talk, and share snacks, but the app takes that away. Kinda like your board game group, the vibe just isn't the same when it's all digital. We tried it once, and it felt so lonely staring at a screen instead of passing pieces around. Makes you miss the clutter of game boxes and the sound of dice rolling.

Totally sterile now, just clicking buttons alone.

Man, this hits home. It's wild how so much stuff is getting replaced by apps, not just games. Like, even catching up with friends is mostly texts now instead of meeting face to face. That shift makes everything feel more lonely and less real. We're missing out on the messy, fun parts that make hanging out actually mean something.

Nah, apps just changed the hangout, they didn't kill it. My friend group is spread across three time zones now, and without group video calls or gaming online, we'd never talk. Sure, it's different from sharing a bag of chips, but we still laugh just as hard. Getting everyone in one room was a scheduling nightmare anyway. The mess is just digital now, and the connection is still real.
