Rant: My game group fell apart for a whole month last spring
It started when two people got into a huge fight over a rules dispute in Scythe, and then the whole schedule just collapsed. We finally got back together after I organized a simple game night at the local library, and it felt like old times. What's the longest your regular game night has ever been on hiatus?

Changed my whole view on Betrayal actually. I used to roll my eyes at people saying it ruins game nights, figured they just took things too seriously. Then our group had a three week standoff over a haunt rule in Betrayal where someone insisted the traitor had to reveal their identity on turn one, and the whole thing spiraled into passive aggressive texts and cancelled plans. Finally got everyone back together for a night of Just One and it was like flipping a switch, no arguments, just laughing at dumb clues. Now I'm the one bringing Betrayal only when I know the group's in a good mood and keeping it at the bottom of my bag as backup.

Man, a whole month sounds like a dream. My group once vanished for three months after someone spilled a whole soda on my friend's custom Gloomhaven setup. I basically had to bribe them back with pizza and a promise to never play anything with tiny pieces again.

Watched a friend's group implode for almost two months after a massive debate over house rules in Betrayal at House on the Hill. It got so bad they were texting each other rulebook pages as "proof." He finally got them to meet again by hosting a totally chill night of Just One with zero rule arguments allowed.

Saw a blog post calling Betrayal "the friendship ender" because of those vague haunt rules. Just One is a perfect recovery game, no room for fights.
