Spent three hours trying to sort the Scythe box after a game night

We finished a game at my place and I thought putting everything away would take maybe 20 minutes. I was wrong. The insert has all these specific slots for different resource tokens, mechs, and cards, but nothing fit right. I kept checking the rulebook picture and moving things around. It took me over three hours to get it all sorted and the lid to close. Has anyone else had a game that just refuses to go back in the box neatly?

I actually like the Scythe insert puzzle.

Yeah it's a design problem everywhere. Things look good in pictures but don't work when you actually have to use them daily. Form over function drives me nuts.

Scythe is the absolute worst for this, I saw a whole thread about it on another forum. The insert looks nice but it's basically a puzzle you have to solve every single time. People were saying you have to put the resources in a very specific order or the board won't lay flat. I ended up just throwing the insert away and using small baggies for everything, it saves so much time and frustration. The box closes easily now and setup is way faster. Some game boxes are just not made for real life use after the first time you open them.
