That time a stranger at PAX Unplugged saved my game night
I was at PAX Unplugged in Philly last December stressing over a broken mini from my Kickstarter game. This guy named Mike at the demo table next to me just handed me a tube of plastic cement and showed me how to fix it in 2 minutes without ruining the paint. He didn't even ask for anything, just said "we all mess up minis sometimes." Anyone else have a random con stranger fix a board game problem for you?

Whoa, that's a nice story and all, but I gotta ask - is it really that huge of a deal? Gluing a broken mini back together seems like something you could figure out on your own pretty quick. People act like random strangers are superheroes for doing the tiniest favor at cons.

Had a buddy once spend twenty minutes trying to superglue a dice tower back together while ignoring a whole stash of Gorilla Glue in his bag. Some people just need to see someone else do the obvious thing before it clicks.

Did you catch that article about how con volunteers often get training in random repair tricks specifically because newbies freeze up when something breaks? It's not that gluing a mini is rocket science, it's more that panic makes people forget even basic stuff they know. So yeah, the fix itself is small, but the reminder that "hey you got this" can be a big deal in the moment.
