Best week I've had on a job site in years
Last month I was on a shutdown at a chemical plant in Baton Rouge. We had to replace a 12-foot section of 2-inch schedule 80 pipe that was corroded near a reactor. Everything went smooth - the welds passed X-ray on the first try and we finished two days ahead of schedule. Has anyone else had a job where everything just clicked like that?

Bet your foreman was REAL happy to pocket that overtime savings.

Pocket that overtime savings" - yeah, my buddy's foreman tried that same move on him. Told him to shave off a few hours on his timecard to "help the company out" and that he'd get a bonus later. Bonus never showed up, but the foreman's new truck sure did.

The last job that clicked like that for me was up in Bakersfield on a frac water line. We had this old hand, @milesbarnes, who usually hogs the torch and takes forever. But this time the supplier sent the wrong fitting and he had to wait two days for the right one, so the rest of us just knocked out the whole tie-in without him. Foreman was so happy he bought us all lunch from this Mexican joint that had the best carne asada. Miles showed up right as we were packing up and just stood there with his mouth open.
