A plain old bone folder changed my corners after 2 years

I always creased my endpapers with a plastic bone folder and thought I had it down. Swapped to a wooden one last Tuesday on a whim and the difference in the fold is wild, it presses deeper without slipping. My corner wraps finally sit flat instead of puffing up at the edges. Anyone else notice a big shift just from switching folder material or is my leather just picky?
