Best binding week I had in years, then it all fell apart

Back in 2019, I had a whole week where every single book came out perfect. The glue set right, the covers lined up, no air bubbles anywhere. I remember finishing a set of 5 journals on a Thursday and thinking I finally had this trade figured out. Then on Friday, my sewing frame snapped in half right in the middle of a rush order and I spent the whole weekend rebuilding it from scratch. Has anyone else had a week that started perfect and then just crashed?

Oh man, that sucks! Just a heads up though, you probably mean "binding" not "sewing" for the frame - sewing frames are for stitching pages, not for the binding part where the cover goes on. Hope you got a new one that holds up!

Did you try tightening the screws on the binding frame before it broke? Sometimes they come loose over time and that extra wobble puts stress on the metal joints. I had one snap on me mid-project last year, ended up reinforcing the replacement with some heavy duty wooden dowels on the inside edge.

The wooden dowels are a great idea... I actually went a step further and added some small L-brackets on the inside corners of mine after it started wiggling. Keeps it from twisting when you crank down on the binding.
