Hit 200 perfect spines in a row and it changed my mind about using PVA only
I always thought PVA glue was the only way to go for strong spines, but after hitting 200 perfect ones in a row using a mix of PVA and methylcellulose, I had to admit I was wrong. The books open flatter and the spine glue doesn't crack at all. Anyone else tried mixing different glues and gotten better results?

PVA and methylcellulose mix" is exactly what I switched to last year, and it's been a game changer for me too. I was skeptical at first but the books just feel better in the hand.

Used to think glue was glue. I stand corrected.

and honestly the feel thing is such a big deal nobody talks about enough, i've got a few books from people who swear by pure PVA and they just feel stiff and awkward to hold compared to the ones with methylcellulose mixed in. it's like the difference between a fresh paperback and a hardcover that's been broken in already, you know?
