I used to think a bone folder was just for creasing paper
I was at the craft store in Madison and the person next to me said, 'I use the rounded end to burnish my leather after dyeing, it gives a nicer finish than my fingers.' I tried it on a small journal cover and it worked way better, the leather looked smoother. Do you all use your bone folders for stuff other than folding?

yeah I do that all the time actually. the burnishing trick works on veg tan leather way better than chrome tanned if you havent tried that yet. also the sharp tip on mine is great for scoring thick paper before folding it for bookbinding, saves a lot of guessing where the crease should be.

My friend uses hers to smooth clay seams, works great.

Oh nice, @ray613... I did the same thing with a small sculpting tool last week. It got into those tight spots perfectly.

What kind of clay is your friend working with? I've only tried it on polymer clay and it was okay, but I'm curious if it works better on other types.
