My kid's kindergarten teacher said she prefers board books with sewn bindings, not glued

She told me they survive the class library bin for years, while the glued ones fall apart in a term. I've been using PVA for my personal projects, but now I'm looking at getting a proper sewing frame. Anyone have a good beginner model they'd recommend?

Man, that teacher knows what's up. I tried to make a family recipe book for my mom with glue, and it basically turned into a stack of loose papers after one holiday season. The gravy stains didn't help either. I saw what happened to @jenny_white21's cookbook and figured I'd skip that mess. A cheap sewing frame is totally the move, it feels way more solid when you're done.

Oh, I learned that lesson the hard way with my own glued-together cookbook. It's now more of a loose-leaf collection. A basic two-bar sewing frame is a great start. I got a cheap one from a hobby store years ago, and it's still going strong for my occasional projects.

Yeah, that loose-leaf life is real. My first try fell apart after a few months of kitchen use. A simple frame makes all the difference for something you actually handle.
