Shoutout to the kettle stitch for holding my early projects together
I struggled with it at first, but an older binder took the time to show me the trick. Now I see how it makes books last, unlike some quick methods today. That lesson in patience paid off.

That's a great point about the kettle stitch. It really is the backbone of a hand bound book. Struggling with it at first is so common, but getting that lesson from someone experienced makes all the difference. It feels good to use a method you know will last.

Did you really learn the kettle stitch from an actual person? @rayc94, that is so cool! Everyone I know just watched a million YouTube videos and still messed it up. Getting shown by someone who knows how must make it feel totally different, like a real craft secret. That kind of help is way better than any tutorial.

My first kettle stitch looked like a tangled mess, honestly. Pretty sure my early book could only hold together a couple of post-it notes before it gave up. I had one signature that just kind of slumped out the side like it was trying to escape. Getting shown the right way was a lifesaver, because my version was basically a safety hazard.
