Showerthought: My old t-shirt made a great book cover
I cut up a worn-out cotton shirt to cover a small journal I was binding. It was a fun way to reuse something instead of throwing it out. Have you found other everyday items that work well for covers?

That's a clever way to reuse fabric. An old leather jacket makes a surprisingly rugged cover for a notebook. It gives things a second life with way more character.

That jacket was probably too cool to actually wear, so turning it into a notebook is a solid compromise, @the_oscar. My condolences to the jacket, but it's a great upgrade for some boring paper. You've basically given it a promotion.

Yeah, it feels like we're all turning our old stuff into new stuff lately. Like there's this whole quiet rebellion against throwing things out, you know? What else are we supposed to do with all this sentimental stuff we can't bear to trash?

Honestly this whole reuse trend feels a bit forced sometimes. Not every old thing needs a second life as some craft project. That t-shirt was worn out for a reason, and now it's just a weird book cover that'll probably fall apart faster than real material. Sometimes it's perfectly fine to just let things go when they're done, you know? Why do we have to turn all our trash into treasure?
