Spent 8 hours fighting a text block that was 2mm off center
I was casing in a copy of Moby Dick last Tuesday and the text block kept sitting 2mm off center no matter how many times I reset it in the press. After 8 hours of adjusting, remeasuring, and almost ruining the spine, I figured out my backing boards were warped from sitting in my garage all summer. How do you all store your boards so they don't twist out of shape?
Warped boards from sitting in the garage all summer, classic move, the heat and damp turn them into potato chips. I keep mine stacked flat on a shelf with heavy books on top so they can't twist. Sounds dumb but it works, and you save yourself another 8 hour nightmare.
