Spent $80 on a 'professional' bone folder that snapped on the first signature

I bought this fancy brass bone folder online, thinking it would be a lifetime tool. The tip broke off while I was creasing a fold on some 80gsm paper. On one side, you have people saying you need quality tools that cost more. On the other, my basic $5 Teflon folder has lasted years without a single issue. Has anyone else had a high-end tool fail on them right away?

What's the point of paying for a "pro" tool if it can't handle basic use? Sometimes the cheap stuff is just built better.

My old drill press lasted 15 years, blairm77, and it was a bargain brand.

Feel that pain, had a similar thing happen with a pricy metal ruler that chipped first use. Sometimes you're just paying for the name and a fancy finish, not actual strength. Brass can be brittle, so a cheap flexible plastic one might actually take more abuse. Did the seller offer any kind of warranty or return when it broke?
