Watched a guy at the bindery in Boise score his board against the grain, and every fold cracked
He was scoring on the back side too, which is what really did it. Score on the outside of the fold, grain running the same way as the spine, and crease with a bone folder before you ever touch the press. Anyone else seen folks skip the grain check on Davey board?

Read a blog post from a bookbinder in Portland who said grain direction matters more than paper weight on Davey board. Skipping that check is just asking for cracked spines down the road.
