Appreciation post: My old plant light was a total waste of money
I used a cheap purple grow light for my herbs for over a year, thinking more color meant more growth. A friend in Tucson pointed out how weak and leggy my basil was, and it clicked that the light was junk. What's a good, simple light you all use for a small kitchen setup?

Wait, sideways mint? That's wild, @thea_bell! I can't even picture a plant growing like that. My cheap light just made everything super tall and floppy. I switched to a basic white LED panel from the hardware store, and my parsley finally looks normal.

My neighbor had the same purple light, and her mint grew sideways like a weird green octopus.
