Killed my mom's 30 year old jade plant by moving it to a south window in Tucson
My mom gave me her jade plant when she moved to a smaller apartment in Phoenix, and it had been sitting in the same shady corner for over 30 years. I figured it wanted more sun so I stuck it by my south facing window, and inside of 9 days the leaves went soft and started dropping off one by one. I panicked and moved it back to a low light spot, clipped the mushy stems, and stopped watering it for almost 3 weeks. It's finally pushing out tiny new leaves near the base, but I feel awful about the damage. How long do jades usually take to bounce back after a bad sunburn like that?
