Rant: my orchid snob friend nearly made me ditch grocery store orchids
Was watering my collection on Tuesday when my buddy Jake said buying phals from Kroger is basically plant gambling. He grows only species from Ecuador, so I spent 3 hours debating him. But honestly, my $14 grocery phal has bloomed 4 times in 2 years with zero fuss, so why should exotic purists get to call that lesser? Has anyone else had rare plant folks make them feel guilty for loving the easy ones?
