Vent: My neighbor called my fern collection 'just a bunch of green stuff'

I was repotting on my porch in Seattle when the guy next door said that, and it made me realize how differently people see plants. Some folks just don't get the specific care and history behind each one. Does anyone else have a plant that looks simple but has a cool story?

Totally get that. I have this scraggly spider plant that looks like nothing special, but it's a clipping from my grandma's plant that survived three moves and a cat attack.

Feel that so hard. My peace lily is just a grocery store rescue but it's my longest living plant friend.

Actually, that's kind of the best part though. The story is what makes it special, not how long it's been around. A plant with a good backstory beats a boring old one any day.
