Dropped $700 on a brick tongs setup that actually paid for itself
So I do mostly chimney repair and small brick jobs around Richmond, and for a long time I was hauling brick up ladders by hand one at a time like an idiot. My back was wrecked by Friday every week. About 8 months ago I finally bought a proper brick tongs setup, the kind you can carry 8 to 10 brick per grab, and a decent mortar hawk to go with it. Cost me right around $700 for everything, and I almost didn't pull the trigger because that's real money for a one man crew. But here's the thing, on a 3 day chimney rebuild in Church Hill I cut my brick hauling time basically in half and my forearms weren't shot by lunch. The tongs paid for themselves on that one job honestly. Now I want to know, what's the one tool you dropped real money on that either saved your body or was a total waste? I'm looking at a brick saw next and I don't want to get burned again.
