Finally fixed that mortar mix I've been messing up for 3 months.

Figured out my sand was too wet after a rainstorm last Tuesday, so I started keeping it covered and bagged it in 5 gallon buckets, and my joints stopped cracking, anyone else have moisture issues with stored sand?

Kept a tarp over my pile and it worked out.

Ha, try keeping my sand dry when I forget it's even outside until the next rain. I left a bag open once, thought I was being clever with a bucket, only to find out the bucket had a crack at the bottom. Ended up with sandy soup and a mortar that looked like it had a bad reaction to something.
