Got told my brick ties were spaced wrong by an inspector last month

I was working on a house in Dayton and the inspector pointed out I had my brick ties every 24 inches instead of every 16. He said it was a common mistake with newer guys and showed me how the wall could buckle over time if the ties aren't close enough together. I spent the next afternoon redoing a whole section I had already laid up. Has anyone else had an inspector catch something small that saved you from a bigger problem down the road?

Brick ties and I have a worse track record than my first three marriages.

The same thing happened to me on a job in Cincinnati last spring... inspector caught my brick ties spacing was off by just a few inches and I had to pull down a whole section of wall I thought was finished. Man, that was a rough afternoon but looking back it probably saved me a call back in a year or two when the wall started bowing out. He also pointed out I was using the wrong screw for the ties into the steel beam and explained how moisture can rust regular screws over time. I was super annoyed at first but now I check my spacing twice before I even start laying brick.

Figured out my brick tie spacing was wrong the same way I learned my first wife's birthday.
