Hit 10,000 bricks laid on a single wall today
I've been working on this retaining wall behind the community center in Oakville for three weeks. Counted today and I'm at 10,043 bricks with no major blowouts or cracks. Has anyone else kept track of their personal best on one project?

Wait, you counted each brick? That's a level of patience I genuinely don't have. Three weeks of stacking and counting sounds like a special kind of focus.

Oh come on, isn't that the whole point though? If you're gonna stack bricks for three weeks, you might as well know exactly how many you moved. It's not about patience, it's about having a goal to hit each day. Otherwise you're just doing the same boring thing over and over with no way to measure your progress. I bet she felt pretty good when she finally hit that last brick and knew the exact number. Isn't that more satisfying than just guessing and moving on? People call it crazy but I call it actually finishing something the right way.

@lee.cora honestly the counting is kind of addictive once you start. I never thought I'd be that person either until I realized I needed to hit certain marks every day to keep the mortar work consistent. There's this weird focus that comes from tracking numbers, kind of like setting smaller goals inside a bigger one. Bet you'd surprise yourself if you tried it on something small, like counting tiles on a bathroom floor. The mental game of hitting an exact number at the end of the day keeps your hands steady and your head clear. Ever try anything like that with your own projects?
