My foreman in Nashville bet me $50 I couldn't lay a 12 course wall without a level and I almost won
Last Tuesday he took my 4 foot Stabila away and all I had was a line and my eye, and by course 9 the wall was leaning almost half an inch. He paid up because it held for a day, then we tore it down anyway since the spec called for 1/8 inch over 10 feet. So how much of leveling do you all do by feel on a straight run before you grab the tool?

Honestly that "course 9 and leaning almost half an inch" part hits home, because you can feel when it's going bad but you can't feel which way to fix it fast enough. Ngl on a straight run I'll eye the first few courses and get a feel for the mud and block, but by course 3 or 4 I'm checking it with something, even just a torpedo level. You did good getting 9 courses up before it wandered, that's a steadier hand than most guys have.
