Pro tip: Stop butterflying your frogs, learned this from a guy in Austin
Honestly, I always split my frogs clean down the middle for setting corners. Felt like it gave me better control. Then a mason in Austin told me to just score the back and snap them, keep the face intact. Tried it on a fireplace last Tuesday and it saved me like 20 minutes of cleanup. Anyone else ever ditch a habit that just made more work?

Damn bro, ain't that the truth? I was butterflying everything for years till a old timer showed me the same trick, felt like an idiot for all that wasted time. Makes you wonder what other dumb habits we're all still doing.

Is it really that big of a deal though? I mean, sure, butterflying is a little slower but it's not like it ruined your life or anything. People act like using the wrong tape or knife is the end of the world but it's just putting stuff up on a wall.

And here I am thinking my life was COMPLETE just because I learned how to fold tape corners, guess I've been missing out on the REAL secrets all along. Honestly though, if butterflying tape is wrong I don't want to be right, at least until someone shows me a faster way that doesn't involve me ripping the paper halfway through. But seriously, maybe we should start a support group for people who've been traumatized by bad taping techniques.
