Showerthought: I just hit 10,000 bricks laid this month and it felt different
Always thought counting was for bean counters, but seeing that number on my app made me realize how much more we move than I ever guessed. Anyone else track their daily brick count and find it changes how you pace a job?

Yeah, that moment when you see a big number like 10,000 bricks is a real eye opener. I started tracking my own count a while back and it completely changed how I plan my day, I used to just work until the wall was done. Now I know roughly how many bricks I can lay in an hour, so I can pace myself better and actually finish on time without killing my back. It turns a messy guess into something you can actually manage.

Turning a messy guess into something you can manage" is right. I tried tracking my own numbers once and just got depressed when I saw how many coffee breaks I was actually taking. The app didn't help me pace the job, it just shamed me.

Did you find the shame part came from the app's design itself, like a judgmental notification, or was it more just your own reaction to seeing the raw data? Some of those trackers feel like they're built to guilt you into doing more.

Remember my buddy who started tracking his steps? He saw his weekly average and just bought a standing desk.
