The foundation I poured in Dallas looked perfect at 7 days... by 90 days it was cracking everywhere.
Turns out the mix had too much water (the supplier admitted they messed up the batch) and it shrunk way more than it should have as it cured. Has anyone else had a supplier screw up a mix like that and not catch it until the damage was done?

A good batch of concrete doesn't just go bad overnight. Sometimes a little extra water helps with the workability and keeps the guys from fighting it all day, and maybe that minor cracking is just cosmetic settling rather than a structural flaw. The supplier owning up to it is rare enough that I'd be skeptical about blaming the whole failure on them.

Man I hadn't even thought about how the extra water messes with the shrinkage rate over time, that's a sneaky way for a problem to show up months later.
