Always thought dried beans were too much work, but a $2 bag of pintos fed us for three days
The canned ones cost four times as much for the same amount of food. Anyone have a good method for chickpeas?

Remember soaking chickpeas overnight for hummus once.

Canned chickpeas are totally fine for a quick fix, I do it all the time. But the real magic of soaking and cooking them yourself is that cooking liquid, the aquafaba. You can whip that stuff up like egg whites for meringues or use it in vegan baking, it's wild. Plus homemade hummus always ends up way creamier and more flavorful than the canned version, at least in my experience. Definitely worth the extra planning if you have the time and remember lol.

Forgot and used canned ones, @the_sage. Still tasted fine.
