Appreciation post: How cooking rice in broth changed everything for me
I got tired of bland rice with every meal so I tried using chicken broth instead of water about 2 months ago. It turned out way tastier and I found I didn't need to add extra salt or seasoning to the whole dish. Has anyone else swapped out water for broth in their usual cheap meals?

Ngl I had no idea people were still out there boiling rice in plain water. Broth is literally the easiest swap you can make and it turns everything up a notch. Like even cheap boxed broth works way better than plain water, it's night and day. I've been doing it for years and now when I eat rice made with water it just tastes sad and flat. Makes me wonder how many other basic cooking tricks I'm still missing out on.

Totally agree that broth is a game changer, I've seen some chefs talk about adding a bay leaf or a knob of butter to the water too. I tried that after watching a video and it gave the rice a rich smell without needing to buy anything extra. Still, I'm with you on the broth thing, plain water rice is just boring now.
