Can we talk about how dried beans beat canned for my grocery bill but not my time?
Everyone in this group keeps saying to buy dried beans instead of canned to save money, so I finally did it. I got a 4 pound bag for $5.49 at the Save A Lot here in Dayton and figured I was being smart. Two hours later I had a pot of beans that still felt hard in the middle, and my gas bill for the stove probably ate half the savings. I am not saying canned is cheaper, but for a person working two jobs, the 89 cent can is not the rip off people here make it out to be. What am I doing wrong with soaking, because I followed the bag and it still went bad?
