Hot take: I fed 3 people for $9.47 at Aldi and now my grocery list looks totally different
I used to think cheap meals meant rice and beans every night, but last week I walked into the Aldi on High Street with $10 and walked out with a carton of eggs, a bag of potatoes, a can of crushed tomatoes, and a block of sharp cheddar. I made a frittata Sunday, potato soup Monday, and loaded baked potatoes Tuesday and my total came to $9.47 for three dinners plus leftovers. The kicker was the eggs were $2.19 a dozen, which is the cheapest I have seen in months. Anyone else track their per-meal cost and have a go-to store where the math just works out better?

Is it sad that I know the price of eggs at three different stores right now? My wife asked what I wanted for my birthday and I almost said a Costco membership so I could buy 60 eggs at once. I tried the Aldi run last month and spent $11 because I walked past the clearance meat section and lost all self control. The frittata idea is smart though, I usually just scramble eggs and call it dinner like a caveman. Potatoes are my weak spot too, I buy the big bag thinking I will meal prep and then eat baked potatoes four nights in a row.
