I saw a chart showing how much cheaper dry beans are than canned, and the numbers shocked me
I was reading a food cost breakdown on a government site and it said a pound of dry beans costs about $1.50 and makes the same amount as six cans, which would be over $6. I've been buying canned for years without even thinking about it. How many other simple swaps am I missing out on?

Ever tried making your own yogurt? The savings are just as crazy!

Honestly, the savings never really added up for me. You have to buy the starter and a lot of milk, plus run a machine or keep the oven on for hours. The time it takes to strain and clean up is a real cost too. For the amount my family eats, it's just easier to grab a tub on sale. Feels like more work than it's worth most weeks.

Yeah, it's a ton of work for barely any payoff.

Wait, have you tried making your own yogurt? I gave it a shot and honestly the savings are okay but the cleanup is a huge pain. You gotta heat milk to a specific temp then keep it warm for like 8 hours, and if you screw up the temperature it comes out all watery. For what we eat it's maybe a dollar or two cheaper than store brand, not worth the hassle in my experience.
