My neighbor's one-liner about meal prep hit me hard last Tuesday
She said, 'You're not saving money, you're just buying convenience in bulk,' while I showed her my $80 Costco haul of pre-cut veggies. Honestly, that made me rethink the whole process, now I'm trying to see if chopping my own carrots for 20 minutes actually cuts my weekly grocery bill below $60. Anybody else have a moment like that where someone flipped your budget logic?

Last month I timed myself breaking down a whole chicken and dicing onions for the week, took me 35 minutes and I saved like $12. My wife still says my time is worth more than that, but I told her it's about the principle, not the hourly wage.

Tbh I get the whole principle thing, but 35 minutes for $12 is like barely minimum wage. If you enjoy doing it that's cool, but pretending it's some big win when your wife is just doing basic math feels kind of off.
