The frozen veggie trap that cost me $18 extra last month
I kept buying fresh broccoli and peppers every week, thinking it was cheaper. Then I actually did the math on 3 grocery trips in Nashville and realized the frozen bags were half the price per pound. Same for spinach, it wilts before I use it half the time anyway. Anyone else been fooled by the fresh section when frozen works just as good for soups and stir fries?

Two years ago my freezer died and I lost about thirty dollars worth of frozen veggies and a whole bag of chicken breasts. That was the week I started weighing everything in my head before buying anything. But honestly the real scam is the pre-cut butternut squash, I paid seven bucks for a tiny bag of cubes and then saw whole squash for a dollar fifty the next aisle over. Takes ten minutes to peel and chop but it felt like a full hour. Frozen still wins for convenience and I dont have to play beat the clock with expiration dates.
