Can we talk about using a buddy's address for museum discounts?
I was in Paris and a local friend let me use their address to get the resident price at the Louvre. Saved a bunch of cash, but it felt a bit shady pretending to live there. Where do you draw the line on stuff like this?

Gray area, but everyone does it.

Just because something is common doesn't make it right. That "gray area" is often just a way to excuse bad behavior. Plenty of people actually avoid those shortcuts because they cause real problems later. Calling it normal just lowers the standard for everyone. We should aim to be better, not just follow the crowd doing shady stuff.

Totally agree about the gray area excusing bad behavior. My friend skipped some steps on a home repair to save time, saying it was fine because "everyone does it." Well, a year later the whole thing failed and caused way more damage. That shortcut cost him triple what doing it right would have. It proved to me that calling something normal doesn't make it smart or harmless.

Yeah but "everyone does it" is how you end up with shoddy work everywhere. Those gray areas usually aren't so gray when things go wrong.
