Checked my hostel booking in Bangkok and realized breakfast was included the whole time
I booked a private room for $18 a night and never noticed the free toast and eggs deal until day 3. Has anyone else missed something obvious in a booking and felt like you left free money on the table?

Is it even breakfast if you have to fight a hungover Australian for the last piece of toast?

Ngl I feel like half the time hostels include breakfast as a way to make you feel better about paying for a bed that's basically a cardboard box with a pillow. But you mentioning the free toast and eggs thing made me realize something nobody talks about. Those free breakfasts are usually served at 7am sharp and gone by 8, which means you're essentially paying the hostel to wake you up early on your vacation. Tbh I'd rather sleep in and grab some street food for a dollar than plan my morning around stale toast.

Keep going with this thought though - how many hostels have you actually seen where the breakfast was anything more than white bread and instant coffee that was brewed three hours ago? Because I'm sitting here trying to remember a single time the "free eggs" weren't those powdered ones that taste like nothing, and honestly I'm coming up blank.
