Got burned at a hostel in Medellin Colombia last spring

Guy at the front desk swore the private room was $25 a night. Checked my card later and got charged $40. He just shrugged and said 'system error.' Asked for the manager, never came down. Anyone else get hit with hidden charges at hostels?

Nah they never made it right. Just a shrug and 'sorry, system error' like that's supposed to fix it.

Man that sucks, same thing happened to me in Buenos Aires last year. Did you end up getting any of the money back?
