My hostel booking in Prague fell through at 2 AM

Got into Prague last month around 1 AM after a bus delay. Walked to my booked hostel and the night guy said they overbooked and had zero rooms. Ended up sleeping in the train station lobby with my backpack until 6 AM when a coffee shop opened. Anyone else had a booking screw them over at the last minute?

Overbooked and had zero rooms" - that sucks but honestly, hostels do this all the time and you gotta have a backup plan when you roll in at 2 AM. Next time call ahead a few hours before arrival to confirm they actually saved your spot.

Agree with calling ahead, but I actually read somewhere that some hostels intentionally overbook because they know a certain percentage of people won't show up. It's like airlines do with flights which is honestly pretty sketchy. That doesn't help you at 2 AM though when you're stuck on the street with a backpack. Have you ever tried those last minute hostel apps? They saved me a few times in Europe when I got burned like this.
