Shoutout to the guy who told me to book flights on a Tuesday morning

I used to think flight prices were totally random and just hoped for the best. Then I chatted with a travel agent at a bus stop in Portland last fall who said airlines load their sales Monday night and Tuesday at 10am is the sweet spot. I tested it for a trip to Seattle and saved $60 on a round-trip ticket compared to checking Thursday. Has anyone else actually noticed a difference booking on a specific day of the week?

Wait, isn't that just confirmation bias though? I've been tracking prices for years (I'm a deal hunter, it's a problem) and I've seen just as many good deals pop up on Wednesdays and Fridays. The Tuesday thing feels like a myth that keeps getting passed around because people want a simple rule for something that's actually super complex.

Doesn't the airline's algorithm know you're looking and adjust prices based on that instead of the day?

ben_fisher nailed it" - airlines actually track cookies from travel sites, not just your visits.
