Showerthought: the hostel clerk in Lisbon said skip the €9 airport shuttle and take the 3 euro bus
Last month I was checking into a hostel near Rossio and the guy at the desk overheard me asking about airport transfers, then said the Aerobus is 9 euros but the 783 city bus runs the same route for about 3. I tried it on the way back and it took maybe 15 minutes longer but saved me 6 euros and I got to see actual neighborhoods instead of the highway. Does anyone else have a city where the cheap local bus beats the tourist shuttle?
