Vent: hostels in Lisbon wanted $40 a night for a bunk bed
I found a guesthouse 20 minutes out of the city for $18 with free breakfast, but my bus stop got skipped and I walked 2 miles with my pack at 11pm... has anyone else had better luck using the local train app instead of the tourist bus routes?

Damn, two miles with a full pack at 11pm? That's rough. I would have just sat down on the curb and called it a night right there. The skipped bus stop thing is weird too, like the driver just decided your stop didn't exist anymore. I've had better luck with the local metro apps honestly, they seem to actually track where you are instead of guessing. But $18 for breakfast still beats $40 for a bunk, so maybe you won that one in the end.
