Warning: the 'skip the line' tour bundles are a hidden trap in Lisbon

I paid 12 euros extra for a skip the line add on in Lisbon last fall and ended up waiting 40 minutes in a separate queue anyway because the tour group had to check in first. Has anyone else found that bundling these with a walking tour just means you trade one line for another?

The part about "check in first" is exactly the catch, most skip the line deals still make you go through a separate tour operator desk before you actually enter. Those 40 minutes you waited were the tour company's own queue, not the ticket line you were trying to avoid. Next time, just buy the direct entrance ticket online and walk past everyone, it costs less and skips the middleman entirely.
