Friend of mine laughed when I pulled out a cash envelope system at dinner
We were at a ramen spot in Portland splitting a $72 tab, and when I peeled out twenties from a labeled envelope marked 'Eating Out', my buddy started cracking up. He goes 'dude, you look like your grandma paying for bingo night'. But three weeks later he texted me asking how to start envelope budgeting because he overdrafted his account twice after forgetting about three separate subscriptions. I walked him through setting up five basic categories right there over a text. Has anyone else gotten roasted for their budgeting methods only to have the same person ask for help later?

$72 tab split with envelopes got me roasted too. Three weeks later my buddy was asking for the same setup, just like yours lol. People clown on it until they see the overdraft notifications, and honestly @rowan_ross it works because you physically feel the money leaving.
