I just divide them by 12 (mentally at least).

My car insurance hits every six months and it used to wreck my budget. I started setting aside $75 from each paycheck into a separate savings account just for that bill. Now when the bill comes, the money is already sitting there waiting. It took a few months to build up the cushion but it completely stopped the stress.

It's a common trap to only plan for monthly costs. Yearly bills always sneak up on you.
