Just walked through a grocery store and noticed something wild about the clearance section
I was at the big Kroger off 42nd street last night grabbing some milk and I decided to actually look at the clearance rack near the deli. Man, there was a whole shelf of those fancy pasta sauces that usually go for like $6 each, all marked down to $1.50 because the jars had a tiny dent or the label was peeling. I grabbed five of them without even thinking twice. It got me wondering how much money I've been leaving on the table by just ignoring that section my whole life. I mean, same with the bakery clearance bin where they sell day-old bread for a quarter of the price. Has anyone else had good luck with a specific store's clearance section, like a certain time of day they restock it?

Hitting that clearance section is like finding free money, man.

That pasta sauce find is a TOTAL win, I love when you stumble on stuff like that.

Save the jar and use it to store dried spices or garlic once its empty, I do that with all my favorite finds.

Have you ever tried drying your own garlic in a jar like that? I did it once with a big batch from the farmers market, ended up forgetting about it for a few months. When I finally opened it, the smell was so strong it knocked me back a step, but honestly it made the best roasted potatoes I'd ever had. Kind of a happy accident, but now I'm more careful with my spice jars.
