My grocery list app was making me spend more, not less
My sister told me I was just moving things from a paper list to a screen and still impulse buying. So I switched to a cash envelope system for food, only $70 a week for a month straight. Seeing the actual bills leave my wallet made me stop grabbing snacks and fancy coffee. I still use the app for staples, but the cash rule is what finally cut my grocery bill by 30%. Anyone else ditch an app for a physical trick like this?

Cash on the counter is the only thing that scares me straight too. I tried the app trick and ended up convincing myself organic gummy bears were a need, so I get it. My wallet looks emptier but at least my snack drawer does too.
