Sister told me I was nickel-and-diming the wrong things. Got me thinking.
My sister recently pointed out that I spend hours hunting for coupons on groceries but never question my $150 monthly subscription stack. She said it like it was obvious, and I realized she was right. I had been so focused on small wins that I ignored the big leaks. I canceled three streaming services and a meal kit I barely used, saving about $85 a month. Does anyone else focus too hard on tiny savings while ignoring the bigger monthly costs?

...and then I walk past the dropped $20 bill on the ground because I'm too busy checking if my coffee is on sale. It's funny how we'll drive across town to save three bucks on gas but never look at the $40 phone plan that's had all these extra features we never touch.

@adam414 I actually gasped reading this because I left a $10 bill on the ground last week while digging through my purse for a store loyalty card! It's wild how our brains are wired to obsess over tiny savings while totally ignoring the big stuff. The $20 bill thing really hit home for me, I'm guilty of that exact same behavior.
